Everyone has that favourite spot where they spent a lot of time as a child; for us Cornwall natives, it’s always a favourite beach. My favourite beach is and always will be, Daymer Bay. Daymer is somewhere we spent any and all beach days on as children and it’s still my go to if I want to head to the coast.
Daymer is on the North Coast between Polzeath and Rock, across the estuary from Padstow. It’s a perfectly located beach as you can park right beside it (no clambering down to the beach here!) and you can set up right on Daymer or stretch your legs for a stroll in either direction, to Rock or Polzeath.
Daymer is beautiful because it is not over commercialised; there’s no cafes, bars or tat shops here. You’ll either want to bring your food with you or head over to Polzeath or Rock to pop in to a cafe. On this occasion we came prepared with delicious pizza from Wadebridge to eat as the sunset.
Sitting upon the cliff at Daymer is one of my favourite places to watch the sunset as you get the perfect view!
If you find yourself in Cornwall, I will always recommend Daymer Bay. Head over, have a beautiful time and always take your rubbish home!
