Cornwall has an abundance of beautiful period stately homes and there’s nothing more calming than strolling around the fantastic gardens and the architecture on a beautiful day. Lanhydrock House is near Bodmin and is a great day out, inside the property is set up as a throw back in time and the vast land surrounding it is free to stroll and sit in the sunshine.
Lanhydrock House is a late Victorian country house and has been owned by the National Trust since 1953. Home to the generations of the Robartes family, you can explore their artwork, the library, dining areas and the servants quarters. The plot itself covers over 1000 acres so you’ll have plenty to do in the sunshine.
As the home is now owned by the National Trust, it’s very well preserved with easy access to the site. Parking, cafes, gift shops and everything you could need for a good day out. If you’re a keen gardener or interested in plants, the large garden and woodland home some rare and specialist shrubs and flowers.
