It’s no surprise that as a new year comes around, a lot of people and marketing techniques, turn towards a big old clear out and re vamp of their spaces. Any excuse for a sort out and a de clutter and I’m there! I’m always pottering around my home and changing bits and pieces but not as often a full in-depth clear out, here’s a few little updates in my home to start the year right!
My kitchen is quite a bright space because of the pale cabinets and a big bright light in here so I wanted to keep these colours very pretty and uplifting. I rearranged my little shelves and added a few decorative bits in place of some jars I had which I wasn’t using. I still love the glass jar look but just reduced the amount and also brought in some beautiful flowers to the corner.
I like to keep the tones in my bedroom quite simple, browns, muted golds and pale yellow which makes the space so calm and relaxing. I’ve added a few prints, one from Hotel Magique and one from Junique which I love, as well as some dried grass and a beautiful big macrame which I picked up in Bali.
My living room continues the same sort of tones with some added green in my plants, I love my banana leaf and can’t wait for her to grow tall and luscious! I keep these crosley player as a centre piece to tie in our love of music and I painted these prints above so I can keep changing them up without wasting money.
I’m trying to stop buying rattan mirrors and I promise one day I will! They’re so pretty and I love the way they look above the bed. To purchase a set can be extremely expensive but I’ve collected these from Amazon and H&M which has been a very affordable way to get the same look! I also updated my bed with these new pillow cases, I like the look of a patterned pillow case contrasting with the crisp white linen.
