The Rosevine, Cornwall

The Big House By The Sea; The Rosevine

There’s no shortage of beautiful hotels around the Cornish coastline but some really do stand out. The Rosevine, situated on the Roseland Peninsula, right above the beach is a true gem and I recently had the pleasure of spending two nights enjoying everything it has to offer. The Roseland Peninsula is between Truro and St Austell and is a little jut out into the water which offers beautiful untouched coastline, classic coastal villages and some of the most fantastic buildings and property Cornwall has to offer.

The hotel itself has a beautiful view across Gerrans Bay where you can enjoy the sun rising and the clear view of where sea meets the sky. Moments from the hotel is the National Trust owned, Porthcurnick Beach where you can follow the coastal path along to Portscatho. You can also head to the other towns and villages on the Roseland such as St Mawes and Portloe or hop in the car and get the ferry across to Falmouth or down the road to Truro.

The rooms at the Rosevine are where it becomes beautifully unique. You can stay in the hotel itself or in their studios located on the grounds. They have rooms and studios within the hotel offering sea views or a quieter setting to the back, their slate rooms which are just around the corner within a separate building offering kitchenette areas and patios or they even have a four bedroom holiday cottage on offer if you are arriving with a bunch of friends or family.

We got to stay in one of their slate rooms, just tucked beside the main hotel. We were lucky enough to get a ground floor room which offered a patio area as well as a lovely double bed, dressing table, kitchenette and shower room.

The slate room comes ready for anything you need. The kitchenette area provides a microwave, kettle, fridge and all other items you may need. They have a lovely little table and chairs to enjoy your food and their were two fresh baked brownies waiting for us on arrival – such a lovely and warming touch!

The shower room has White Company wash items which smell so good and they have a variety of cool and quirky coffee table books to flip through which is a nice touch for when you’re just relaxing back in your room.

The main hotel has a restaurant which offers breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. This is open to guests and members of the public so if you’re not staying but fancy a dinner with a beautiful view, head on down! We had breakfast included in our room and enjoyed the buffet offering cooked selection and continental which was lovely – the staff are very friendly and helpful if there’s anything else you require.

Also housed in the main hotel is an adults lounge and a children’s room. The lounge is beautifully finished and also has a fireplace which was roaring when we stopped in one evening and it was so cosy. This is a great place to just sit and relax, read a magazine or do some work if you wish. They have a children’s room right next door with toys and space to play to keep the lounge nice and relaxed.

What is a beautiful hotel without a pool? This pool in the Rosevine was amazing, it was so warm and perfect for heading in after a day outside in the blustery autumn winds. As soon as you enter the room you’re greeted by the warmth and the steam. They have a shower and plenty of fluffy towels available too to assist you.

Available in the treatment room or in the comfort of your own apartment, The Rosevine also offer a selection of treatments for the ultimate relaxation experience. They offer everything from massages, waxing and beauty treatments.

We absolutely loved our two nights here at The Rosevine and if you’re looking for somewhere in a quiet location with amenities on your doorstep in the form of a gorgeous beach and coastal villages then look no further. Whether you’re taking some time out alone, with a partner or treating a family member, you can all enjoy this place.
