I love nothing more than a cafe that doubles up as a fairytale secret garden – here I present to you, Slice of Cornwall! Nestled in the most beautiful setting in Wendron, you will stumble across this cafe offering healthy lunches, delicious treats and the most calming atmosphere for a coffee with friends. I first noticed Slice of Cornwall on Instagram and I had to make time to head down and give it a visit.
When approaching Slice of Cornwall, you will see the flags on the roadside indicating the entry. There’s a good amount of parking and you can view across the fields as you wander around to the cafe. There’s seating outside in cute garden furniture, on the outside decking or inside if it’s a little chilly. It is the most beautiful setting in the sunshine with the gardens near by and the birds singing – bliss!
We headed down for brunch and I was so excited after seeing the menu online! Alex had the huevos rancheros and I opted for the waffles which was on the specials board topped with candied peaches and bacon. The food was fantastic and the portion sizes were so good, we cleaned our plates and sat enjoying a pot of tea.
The cafe is currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and brunch is served until 12pm with lunch then served until 3:30pm and tea and cake on offer all day long. We headed down without booking and we managed to find parking and a table but in the summer months, I would recommend booking if you can because I can imagine a lot of people will keep revisiting this lovely place!
If you’re in the area, or if you’re not and you’re willing to venture down to enjoy some amazing food in a gorgeous atmosphere – Slice of Cornwall is certainly for you! I can highly recommend what we ordered but I’m sure everything on the menu is delicious too.
