Mousehole is one of those towns in Cornwall that are so picture perfect, they feel like you’re walking around in a postcard! Set upon the rocks, overlooking the beautiful bay is the lovely cafe Rockpool Cafe and I highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area! Rock Pool Cafe is open every day between the hours of 11 and 7pm so whatever the need, whether it’s lunch, drinks or dinner, you’re always welcome to pop on in!
You can access the cafe in two ways; if you park in the main carpark as you enter the town, the cafe can be found at the bottom corner and if you’re strolling over from being in the main town, you can follow the coastal route along to enter. Either way, it’s hard to miss and well signed once you’re outside. You’ll probably spot everyone sitting outside gazing over the coastline from the terrace!
We headed over around 1:30pm and despite being prime time for lunch, we found a beautiful spot in the corner with a lovely view. There were plenty of seats inside and outside so you won’t have to wait long if it is a super busy day! The menu is great and varied, we went for a ploughmans lunch and a prawn sandwich. The food came quickly and was as delicious as it looks! My ploughmans was one of the best I’ve had and was so wonderful whilst looking out at the gorgeous view.
The decor inside is quaint and cosy and very much in keeping with the feel of the area, it’s a lovely place just for a quick catch up with friends. If you’re not looking for a meal, they offer drinks and cakes all day also so it’s worth a stop in just for a quick break!
Let me know if you decide to head in and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
