Finally, to bring a close to my Styling Barbour series, I’m styling the Dexy Parka coat for those city dwellers. I picked the Barbour Parka up most recently and I’ve been living in it ever since. I was on the market for the perfect winter coat; something warm and cosy, waterproof with a good hood and simple enough to be worn at work over office attire. As soon as I spotted this one, I knew it was love. I quite literally haven’t taken it off since and I couldn’t be happier.
Barbour’s traditional routes gives it the versatility that I aim to portray in this series. The simple yet high quality finish means you can have one piece to take you through any journey you go on, or be like me and allow your obsession to lead you to have a wardrobe of variety! The main thing I love most about this jacket, it that I wanted something I could wear to work or keep me warm heading out for dinner but also something I could throw on on the way to the supermarket or the gym if it’s raining outside. This coat is truly that.
With the modern way of fast fashion, it’s not often you can find a piece which can see you through a multitude of seasons and trends and keep it’s quality and effortless comfort quite like Barbour. Whether your day to day life takes you on hikes, through the countryside or simply from car park to office, there’s a Barbour style for you.
I hope you enjoyed my styling of these three styles, I know I enjoyed reminiscing on my first Barbour coat and I’ve found myself deeply interested in the history of the Barbour brand. There’s something so inspiring about a very successful global brand keeping its family routes and something that makes me appreciate the brand even more.
