Reflecting on November

As much as we all try to forget about it, another month has passed us by and the end of the year is drawing closer. November obviously went by very quickly but I wanted to take the opportunity to relive the month to try and extend it – this way I can try and accept I didn’t fall a sleep one night in the Summer and wake up in December!

November was the second full month in my new place and I’m loving it. I spent this month trying to add all the little finishing touches that I’d tell myself that I would get round to doing eventually. Things like letting go of my Ikea curtains and finally investing in some beautiful lined velvet pairs from, finally getting light shades for the spare rooms and thinking about adding colour. I started with white throughout, I wanted to live with it first and then considering adding colour to any walls that I felt necessary. I’ve decided to add a navy wall to the bedroom, I know it’s very on trend but I think it’s something that will stick around for a while. I opted for Valspar paint, I went back and fourth with Farrow & Ball and just decided I didn’t want to spend the money. Valspar have an incredible colour selection, it took a while to choose but I’ve picked the shade and hoping this week I can get the painting finished – I’ll be sure to show it off on my Instagram! I couldn’t be happier in my new place but I think anyone with interior interest will never settle – forever changing things but I secretly love it!

On the topic of interiors, I have also become obsessed with prints and artwork. I always admired peoples picture walls but for some reason never considered one for myself. I’ve been spending all evenings on Desenio, Junique, Hotel Magique to name a few!

Christmas is looming, as much as some of us don’t want to accept it! I was watching a Youtube video in October and someone said that they were going to finish their Christmas shopping before December 1st – I can’t remember who said it but I need to thank them – I have successfully finished all my present buying & wrapping and I couldn’t be happier! I have no stress and it means I can budget my December better knowing that all of that is taken care of. I’ll be doing the same next year!

We finished watching Haunting Of Hill House on Netflix and have moved on to Narcos – I don’t know if I’m late to the band wagon with Narcos but I’m loving it. Haunting of Hill House was brilliant also, something I would highly recommend. It’s scary and jumpy but heart warming and emotional all at the same time. I’ve watched my fair share of horror films and this one is a gooden! I got into Narcos after Lizzy from Shot From The Street mentioned in, I’m only a few episodes in and I’m desperately trying to not read up on Escobar and his crazy life so I don’t spoil it for myself!

Fashion-wise, November has done nothing but put me off latest trends and make me think long and hard about my winter wardrobe. I am always freezing – I know I’m not the only one – and my winter staples really need working on. I live in England and to add to that, in Cornwall – both very well known for being wet and miserable and yet here I am living my life owning several pieces of outerwear yet nothing with a hood – what’s up with that! I’m thinking waterproof coats, boots and thermal layers are needed and I’m going to invest ready for the snow (it’s going to happen, I can feel it).
