There’s never an excuse for a shopping spree quite like the beginning of a new season and who can resist shopping for Autumn anyway? The knitwear, the wooly accessories and the boots. Oh the boots! I’m trying to slimline my wardrobe in general, kind of capsule wardrobe style but slowly so my shopping list for Autumn this year is for timeless pieces which can be worn all year round if the weather agrees and will come back annually. I’ve put together a short but sweet list of pieces I have yet to excite my wardrobe with and added in some helpful links to remind me and to help you, so get reading!
The Chunky Cardigan
It’s a timeless piece but it’s coming back thicker and chunkier than ever and I am all about it. I love a good jacket but there’s something much cosier and more comfortable about a cardigan. I’ve already got a thick black cardigan but I am looking to add some other colours and textures in the mix as I can see myself throwing one of these on day in day out, so options is essential! Asos to a stunning loop design cardigan which I’m obsessed with, the texture is crazy and adds so much to an outfit. I’m also addicted to the Fred Perry one for extra prep-chic and the Mango collared cardigan is going straight in my basket.
The Black Pointed Boot
I really need to up my boot collection, I have a good Chelsea boot and a small heeled boot perfect for in the office but something I definitely have my eye on is a pointed toe boot with a heel. There’s something so effortless and chic about a long trouser and a pointed boot in the Autumn and I’m all about it. I love the patent look and matte leather, which only makes it harder to choose one to add to my shoe cupboard.
The Longline Blazer
A classic and something you cannot go through the colder months without. I have a handful in my collection but it’s the checked variety that I need to invest in mostly. There are so many on the market at the moment and considering you don’t get much change out of one hundred pounds, I need to think long and hard about this! I love the warmer tones for this season but a classic grey check is also a winner.
The Cord Trouser
Autumn styling to me is about two things, layering and textures. Cord is a big texture for me this season and I need some cord bottoms in my wardrobe. There’s many different styles and colours out there at the moment so I’m currently whittling it down to a style I’ll get the most wear out of. The beautiful green Asos ones are high up on my list as well as the Missguided wide leg trouser, those’ll keep your ankles warm!
So that’s my little list of the items I’m going to be adding to my wardrobe this season. Let me know if there’s anything else I should add!
